My Expirience at Rockridge

My thoughts when I got there were different to what I had expected. When I got there I wouldn't really see many Hispanic people, I would say that the majority was Caucasian. It looked like a very clean neighborhood, there was also many clothes stores and restaurants. During our visit there we got to interview some people which was kind of hard to find because we kept on getting rejected. We kept on trying and at the end we got around five people. Some the people we interviewed said that what they didn't like about Rockridge was the school that was nearby their businesses, and someone else said that the things there were kind of expensive. After this experience I actually think that it is different in some ways compared to other places I've visited. It was a very different experience for me because I got to visit a new neighborhood and learn from them.

Who is she?

She’s known as someone that won’t be quiet. She has a very good personality, although she sometimes does get on your nerves. But you’ll get over it, because she is always trying to get someone’s attention by making them laugh. She could sometimes be helpful, but other times could just be a distraction. She will sometimes have some kind of attitude with people that might lead her to problems, that as time goes by she might regret. She will try being nice to you, although there will be days in where she has a grumpy attitude out of no where. She’s the teenage girl that will always keep a smile on people’s faces. And will keep on going throughout the her struggles.

Trip to Chinatown

Before arriving to Chinatown my thoughts where that it was going to be a very challenging to interview people because there is sometimes people that don't know the English language as good. When I arrived there it was actually a place in where you would see different kind of ethnicities. When we walked around to try and find some people to interview, we got king of frustrated because we would go into different restaurant or any other food store to ask and they would reject us. Their excuses were that they were too busy, that their manager wasn't there or similar excuses like those. At the end we ended up interviewing three different people. It was a whole different experience for me it was harder interviewing people at Chinatown.

Some differences I saw between Chinatown and Fruitvale were that at Fruitvale you would see a lot of Hispanic people and at Chinatown the majority would be Asian although there would also be some of other ethnicities. Both of the places seemed to have people that got along with each other. Although it was a different community, it was a very good experience for me to be able to make comparisons between Fruitvale and China Town.

My Expirience At Fruitvale

Well, my experience at Walnut Creek compared to Oakland was different. It was much more easier to interview people at Walnut Creek than being at Fruitvale. For me it was harder to interview people at Fruitvale because it was kind of hard to translate some of the questions and plus we would get rejected by many people. What I actually learned from the community at Fruitvale was that many people feel that their community is involved a lot with violence or other things related to that, many people feel unsafe. Fruitvale is actually a place in where the community is really polite, but there was also people that mentioned being at a place that was full of violence. Fruitvale is a place in where there are more Latino’s than any other race. It was a new experience for me in where I got to compare the community between Fruitvale in Oakland and Walnut Creek.
